This ultra-small reel, measuring just 55mm in diameter and weighing just 95g, is the epitome of Wellstone's reel-making technology. It is crafted from 6061 aluminum and finished by skilled artisans.

We aimed to create a tool that can be easily carried and used on business trips, camping trips, or anywhere you want to enjoy fly fishing. A reel with such a concept would be rejected at the planning stage by any other manufacturer!

*Regardless of color, only 110 pieces will be made to order on a first-come, first-served basis.
*Please note that as this is made to order, delivery may take between one week and one month.

Compared to the Wellstone reel #3-4 (photo right). This is a very small reel with a diameter of 55mm. The reel foot is standard size, so you can of course attach it to your existing rod.

The reel is engraved with "WELLSTONE made in Japan" and is available in silver, gold, and black.

The drag mechanism, which is the heart of the reel, uses the same system as the higher-end models, incorporating the highly acclaimed cork disc that has been used in Wellston reels.
It allows for smooth control over a wide range of tension, from weak to strong. Even when tightened tightly, it will gradually release the line if the fish suddenly makes a dash, preventing line breakage. It is a tenacious drag system that allows you to fight with confidence.

[Greetings from the initiator]

Ishii Iron Works' "WELLSTONE" reels were born about 30 years ago. Their roots lie in the lathe factory started by my grandfather over 100 years ago. Applying the lathe processing techniques that had been passed down, we created the current WELLSTONE reels as reels for fly fishing.

All parts are precision machined and carefully finished one by one at our own factory in Yokohama. We hope you will take the time to try out a reel that is made with the skill and passion of our craftsmen.

A small Yokohama factory that has been in business for over 100 years.
This is where WELLSTONE reels are born.

Ishii Iron Works' new challenge
That's this little reel.

Ishii Iron Works Co., Ltd. President and CEO Noboru Ishii
Ishii Iron Works began as a small lathe processing factory established by his grandfather during the Taisho era. By also working on machine tools and semiconductor-related processing, the company has always been at the forefront of manufacturing. Leveraging the precision processing technology cultivated over its 110-year history, Noboru Ishii launched the "WELLSTONE" brand over 30 years ago. The company's own factory in Yokohama handles everything from design to manufacturing and sales, offering a wide range of products from tying tools to large saltwater reels. This limited edition reel embodies the company's passion for fly reels and pride in Japanese craftsmanship.
